Dylan Jackson reports for the American Lawyer about the hot talent market that doesn't seem to be slowing down.
"The Big Law moves announced in the past couple of weeks run the gamut. Firms have looked to hire lawyers with expertise in fintech and financial services, as well as regulatory issues and, of course, corporate transactions.
Fintech litigator Christopher Leach joined Mayer Brown as a partner in Washington, D.C.; Scott Mascianica, a former assistant regional director for enforcement in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Fort Worth Regional Office, joined Holland & Knight as a partner in Dallas; McGuireWoods added to its appeals and issues and financial services litigation practice with the hires of government attorneys Jonathan Ellis and Kevin Frankel; William Frentzen joined Morrison & Foerster after nearly 22 years as an assistant U.S. attorney in various states.
In the corporate space: Willkie Farr & Gallagher brought on Dechert finance partner Sarah Gelb into its New York office; White and Williams corporate attorney Alexandria Kane joined Loeb & Loeb as partner in New York as well; and Kirkland & Ellis hired away Goodwin Procter debt finance partner Fred Lim in San Francisco."
2021 was a big year for laterals, and 2022 so far looks to be a continuation of the same. If you are an attorney looking for a better platform for your practice, or a firm looking to grow or break into a new market, we would love the opportunity to share our expertise and experience.
