Jacob Polacheck reports recently for the American Lawyer about a big move in the Atlanta market:
"After a year of high deal activity, Polsinelli’s corporate practice is getting larger.
Amanda Norcross and Suhail Seth joined Polsinelli as shareholders in its corporate and transactional practice group in Atlanta in the last week, after previously serving as partners at Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough.
Polsinelli’s corporate and transactional practice group closed 282 total deals in 2021, resulting in a growth of 23% from 2020 to 2021, said Jonathan Henderson, chair of the group. Meanwhile, deal value grew from $9.3 billion to $20.3 billion from 2020 to 2021, an increase of 118%, he said, while deal size saw a 188% growth from $800 million to $2.3 billion."
Compass Law Group's John Thomas worked with Polsinelli to facilitate this move. "Polsinelli, one of our long-time clients, came to us with this growth initiative in Atlanta, and we were happy to help," John said. "Amanda and Suhail are fantastic additions to an already strong and growing Atlanta office."
Corporate lawyers are in high demand, and that only seems to be increasing through Q1 of 2022. "Everyone wants to grow their corporate practice group," John said, "but what really sold these shareholders on Polsinelli was the track record of success and the trajectory of deal work in the firm. Amanda and Suhail are driven to continue to provide excellent service to their clients, and Polsinelli certainly provides that, and they also saw an opportunity to take their practice to the next level."
