On August 1, 2019 Spencer Fane announced a combination with 19 attorneys from Zimmerman, Axelrad, Stern, & Wise, P.C. to open their Houston office. Compass Law Group had the privilege of working with Pat Whalen, the Managing Partner for Spencer Fane, to open this office in one of the largest legal markets in the nation.

Hayden Flowers, the managing partner of Compass Law Group's Houston office, ran point on this combination. Since opening the Houston office, Spencer Fane has been able to grow from the original 19 to 37 attorneys in only 2 years. Including the Dallas, Plano, Austin, and Houston offices Spencer Fane boasts 88 attorneys in Texas, which is more than they have in their HQ in Kansas City.
